As it is widely known, in Japan, the law is strict about the type of work and jobs that
one might be allowed to do on a particular VISA type.
Please use the form below to apply for a visa.
For example, if you hold a visa for "Technology / Humanities / International Business", you can be an engineer, an interpreter, a designer, a foreign language instructor !
Or, for a "specific skill" visa, you could secure a job in the food service industry, food and beverage manufacturing, nursing care, agriculture, construction, building cleaning, lodging, manufacturing, shipbuilding and marine industries, fishing, auto maintenance, aviation, manufacturing, shipbuilding, fishing, auto maintenance, aviation, etc.
Before you start your job search, it is helpful to find out what kind of work
you can do with the visa you currently have.

But in case you are unsure about the kind of work that your VISA type supports, don’t hesitate to reach out to us for free support in this context.

I have a "Technical/ Humanities/ International Services" VISA status
and will be changing jobs soon. What procedures do I need to follow?
If your new job profile and activities fall under the category of your previous job, you need not get your VISA type changed but just apply for the extension of your residence period.
If your new job profile is a little or more different from that of your previous job then either confirm with us about it to make sure else apply for changing of your residence card status. Also apply for the extension of your residence period along with submitting your Transcripts of Highest Education.
Can I switch from a refugee visa to a specific skilled visa?
It is possible to switch, however, you will need to submit documents to prove that you are paying pension and taxes.
I have a status of residence of "Technology / Humanities / International Affairs", but I am planning to marry a Japanese woman soon.
Do I have to change my status of residence?
If your job profile and the job activities are the same, you can stay with your current status of residence.
It is also possible to apply for permission to change the status of residence of "Japanese spouse, etc." after getting married to a Japanese person.

For the first five years of being employed, I enjoyed my challenging job and kind coworkers, but I found myself working round the clock, on holidays and late nights.
